Alex Kingston (Doctor Who, ER) will head the cast of ITV1’s new supernatural drama, Marchlands.
Written by Stephen Greenhorn (Glasgow Kiss, Doctor Who), the five-part drama is based on an original US pilot from David Schulner and is the first collaborative commission between ITV Studios and Fox.
Kingston will star alongside Jodie Whittaker (Cranford), Dean Andrews (Ashes to Ashes), Shelley Conn (Mistresses), Anne Reid (Five Days), Elliot Cowan (The Fixer), Denis Lawson (Criminal Justice), Jamie Thomas King (Mad Men) and Tessa Peake-Jones (Only Fools And Horses).
Marchlands tells the story of three different families living in the same house in the 1960’s, 1980’s and present day. The families are linked by the spirit of a young girl (the 1960’s family’s daughter) who died in mysterious circumstances.
“Marchlands is a really original concept that blends relationship drama with an atmospheric ghost story,” said ITV’s Laura Mackie.
