Amber Heard and more confirmed for Stephen King’s The Stand TV show cast

Some top talent has been announced among The Stand cast, with CBS All Access recruiting some impressive names for its Stephen King TV series. Here’s everything you need to know…

Collider reports that James Marsden (X-Men, Westworld) and Amber Heard (Aquaman) have both signed up for roles in The Stand, with Odessa Young (A Million Little Pieces) and Henry Zaga (The New Mutants) doing the same.

Furthermore, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Stephen King is set to write the tenth and final episode of the show himself. The iconic author will apparently add a new “coda” that isn’t in the original novel.

If you’re unfamiliar with the original book, this is how GoodReads describes it: “This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides — or are chosen.”

Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) and Ben Cavell (SEAL Team) are writing the series together. Boone is also directing.

We’ll bring you more news as we hear it.
