Atlantis star Robert Emms, who plays Pythagoras, has revealed that the fantasy drama’s writers have a long-term plan for the show.
Series 2 begins filming soon and will air on BBC One this autumn.
Speaking exclusively to CultBox recently, Emms commented: “They definitely have a five-year plan for it, for sure. Obviously the first season had to fit into its [post-Merlin] slot, but I know they’re really wanting to make it its own entity, so I think they’re going to be coming up with new things they’ve never done before.”
He added: “I know they have some big, big ideas for it!”
The War Horse actor also hopes that Series 2 will introduce a love interest for Pythagoras: “I think that’d be fun to play. I would like to see who they’d pair him with.”
Discussing his other hopes for the new series of Atlantis, Emms said: “I like when you have to see his knowledge and he has to solve complicated things, I think that’s a great characteristic of his. I also really enjoyed the ‘Furies’ episode, which was my storyline with my brother coming in. It was nice to have a storyline for Pythagoras to give the character a bit more depth. So hopefully they’ll be more episodes like that for me!”
