Tom Hollander has joined the cast of Baptiste, the upcoming BBC One drama which will act as a spinoff series to The Missing. At the heart of the show is Tchéky Karyo, who is once again playing the French investigator Julien Baptiste.
Hollander – who has previously appeared in Rev, The Night Manager and many more – will play a character named Edward in Baptiste.
“I am very excited to be working with Harry and Jack Williams”, Hollander has said, referring to the two writers at the helm of the series. “They are brilliant storytellers of nuance and suspense”, he added.
The Williams brothers responded in kind by saying this:
“We have wanted to work with Tom for some time and are so pleased he is going to play Edward in Baptiste. Tom’s huge range and formidable talent make him a wonderful addition to our cast”
Also, the Beeb’s Tommy Bulfin said this:
“Tom is a wonderful actor and to have him teaming up with Tchéky is very exciting. Baptiste promises to be another thrilling series from the Williams brothers for BBC One.”
The series is slated to start filming later this summer, so we’ll let you know as more news regarding Baptiste comes to light.
