BBC One has commissioned new animations based on Revolting Rhymes by Roald Dahl from the makers of The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom.
Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes features classic fairy stories such as Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk with some surprising twists and illustrations by Quentin Blake.
The two half-hour animated films will air on BBC One at Christmas in 2016, Roald Dahl’s centenary year.
Producer Martin Pope added: “We’re delighted to be bringing Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes to BBC One. Dahl is one the world’s favourite storytellers and Quentin Blake’s drawings are inspirational. We look forward to bringing these films to a BBC One audience.”
