With Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz and Meryl Streep all set to appear, Big Little Lies season 2 will be just as star-studded as the first season of the hit show.

Streep, an utter legend in the acting world, is stepping into the cast to play the father of Alexander Skarsgard‘s Perry Wright, who met his untimely demise at the close of Big Little Lies season 1.

It seems that the main narrative thrust of Big Little Lies season 2 will see the core cast attempting to cover up the murder of Perry. But will they get away with the crime? We’ll just have to wait and watch to find out.

Big Little Lies season 2 has been given a premiere date: HBO will air the first episode of the new season, for American audiences, on June 9th.

For UK viewers, the episode will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic at 2am on June 10th. After the simulcast, the episode will become available for streaming on Now TV. It will also repeat on Sky Atlantic at 9pm on June 10th.
