More of the zombie drama series is on the way…
Syfy’s Z Nation lives on – in spinoff form! Black Summer will be back for season 2 on Netflix, the streaming giant confirmed this week. The show was ordered by Netflix not long before it’s parent series was nixed at Syfy, and viewers have seemingly embraced the new story of Rose (Jaime King), a mum looking for her daughter in the wake of a zombie plague, after the two have become separated in the catastrophe.
Eight further episodes of The Asylum’s Black Summer are expected to arrive on Netflix in the early months of 2021, although an exact season 2 release date hasn’t been confirmed. Filming will begin in Canada in 2020.
King will return for season 2, alongside co-stars Justin Chu Cary and Christine Lee. Casting will get underway for new supporting actors shortly.
