Tom Bateman, Richard E Grant and Natalie Gumede will lead the cast of Jekyll & Hyde, ITV’s new action adventure series.
From The Fast Show writer Charlie Higson and inspired by The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, the ten-part drama will feature “spooky creatures, ghouls, zombies, werewolves and vampires”.
Set in 1930s London, Jekyll & Hyde will star Tom Bateman (Da Vinci’s Demons) as “young, attractive, troubled hero” Robert Jekyll, the grandson of the original doctor.

Richard E Grant (Downton Abbey) will play Sir Roger Bulstrode, who heads the secret government department M10 known as ‘The Invisible Men’, and Natalie Gumede (Doctor Who: ‘Last Christmas’) will play Bella, who’ll be involved in a love triangle with Robert.
The cast also includes Stephanie Hyam (Murdered By My Boyfriend), Donald Sumpter (Game Of Thrones), Amit Shah (The Smoke), Phil McKee (Ripper Street), Christian McKay (Rush), Ruby Bentall (The Paradise), Enzo Cilenti (Game of Thrones), Lolita Chakrabarti (Death in Paradise), Michael Karim (Inspector Lewis) and Ace Bhatti (Silk).
Jekyll & Hyde began filming in Sri Lanka last month and will continue shooting in London from February until July.
The official synopsis reads: “At the heart of the drama is Robert Jekyll’s quest to discover his real identity, his true family history and the nature of his ‘curse’. Jekyll transforms into Hyde in moments of extreme anger, stress and when his or the lives of others are threatened.”
