Channel 4 has announced the commission of an all-new competition format series, Masters of Lego.
The four-part series will see Britain’s biggest Lego fans of all ages compete against each other to build ambitious brick creations.
The six competing pairs will have their design, originality and construction skills put to the test in a battle to be crowned Britain’s most talented amateur Lego builders. From recreating magnificent landmarks in miniature scale, to full-sized working vehicles, each challenge will showcase creative, imaginative and technical abilities and be judged by experts from the world’s biggest toy-maker.
Dom Bird, Head of Formats commented: “There a very few of us who haven’t engaged with Lego bricks at some point in our lives, be it the youngest of children or the space scientists at NASA. This contest is the first of its kind on UK television and will recognise some of Britain’s best and brightest amateur Lego builders, both young and old. We’re excited to bring the most colourful competition on TV to a family audience”.
Executive producer Steph Harris added: “This playful new format demonstrates that Lego bricks are more than just a toy – or something to step on – and will appeal to the child in all of us, showcasing spectacular builds and inspire the next generation of artists, engineers, architects and builders”.
Lego fans can apply to be a contestant on the series at channel4.com/takepart.
