The second season of E4 comedy Chewing Gum has started filming.
Actress, writer, playwright, singer and poet Michaela Coel is back as Tracey Gordon for six new 30-minute episodes, which will air on E4 later this year.
The first season of Chewing Gum launched on E4 last October.
Other returning cast members include Danielle Walters (Kill Your Friends) and Kadiff Kirwan (The Vote) as Candice and her boyfriend Aaron, Susan Wokoma (Crashing) as Tracey’s Ludo-loving sister Cynthia, Robert Lonsdale (The Interceptor) as Tracey’s boyfriend Connor, Olisa Odele (My Parents Are Aliens) as Ola, Maggie Steed (Pie in the Sky) as no-nonsense Esther and Shola Adewusi (A Long Way Down) as Tracey’s mother Joy.
Michaela Coel commented last year: “The love and support for my Chewing Gum baby has been overwhelming and I can’t wait to get started on the second series.”
Coel originally created teenaged protagonist Tracey Gordon for her semi-autobiographical monologue Chewing Gum Dreams, which went on to great acclaim with a run at the National Theatre.
