Living the Dream is a brand new comedy drama from the maker of Cold Feet. It’s due to appear on Sky 1 later this year and features a great cast and crew.
The comedy-drama will star Philip Glenister (Life On Mars, Mad Dogs) and Lesley Sharp (Scott & Bailey), and is being produced by Big Talk Productions (Cold Feet, Rev.). It was created and written by writer/actor Mick Ford (Single Father, The Five); episodes 1-3 will be directed by Saul Metzstein (a five-time Doctor Who helmer, who was also behind US series You, Me and the Apocalypse) and Philippa Langdale (Dickensian, Skins) will handle episodes 4-6.
Living The Dream will be a six part series following the Pembertons – husband Mal (Glenister), wife Jen (Sharp) and their two teenage kids, Tina and Freddie – who leave England and move to Florida to take over the running of a trailer park. They quickly discover, however, that the park is home to “a group of eccentric residents who are not exactly thrilled to meet their new owners”.
Alongside Glenister and Sharp, the series will also star Rosie Day (Prime Suspect 1973) as teenage daughter Tina, Brenock O’Connor (Game of Thrones) as son Freddie, Kim Fields (The Facts of Life) as their larger than life neighbour Rhoda, Kevin Nash (Magic Mike) as ex-wrestler Troy, Leslie Jordan (Will & Grace) as busy-body, park resident Aiden, Paula Wilcox (Mount Pleasant) as Maureen, and Jimmy Akingbola (Rev.) as Paul.
