Community, a cult classic sitcom with a star-studded cast, is heading to All 4. All six seasons of the show, which came to an end in 2015, will arrive on Channel 4’s online streaming service – formerly known as 4OD – in two chunks over the summer.
The “first few” seasons of Community will arrive on All 4 on July 23rd, with the rest of the episodes arriving later on in the summer. Channel 4 seems pretty chuffed with this acquisition, with All 4’s Charlie Palmer making this enthusiastic statement:
“Community is a word-of-mouth gem with a fan-base that truly adores the show. We’re thrilled to be giving everyone a chance to discover it on All 4, for free, this summer. Community joins other U.S. scripted series on the service including Hill Street Blues, Let’s Get Physical and exclusive acquisition Search Party.”
If you’re unfamiliar, Community is a show we would thoroughly recommend checking out. Rick And Morty co-creator Dan Harmon was the creative force behind the show, and its cast included Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Gillian Jacobs, Joel McHale, Chevy Chase, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong, Jim Rash and John Oliver.
The premise at the heart of the show is simple, with a gaggle of losers forming a study group in a desperate bid to graduate from community college. But from there, the show goes to some crazy places: epic paintball battles, ginormous pillow forts and a musical Christmas episode in a stop-motion animated style are just some of the zany ideas that Harmon crammed into the show to hilarious effect.
