The BBC has confirmed the commission of a sixth season of Death in Paradise.
Season 5 concluded last month averaging 8.1 million viewers each week and with a 29% audience share, cementing its position as one of BBC One’s highest rating dramas.

My Family star Kris Marshall will return as DI Humphrey Goodman in eight new 60-minute episodes in 2017.
Executive producer Tim Key commented: “I’m delighted that the fifth series of Death In Paradise has proved so popular. We’ve got more ambitious plans for series six, with a whole host of intriguing puzzles as well as the joy of working with our amazing cast and guest stars. We can’t wait to get back to Guadeloupe and start shooting.”
Filmed on the French island of Guadeloupe, the crime drama launched on BBC One in October 2011.
Death in Paradise was the fourth widest-selling British drama last year, airing in 237 territories around the world including China, South Africa and the US as well as Caribbean countries close to where the show is set and filmed.
