Leech, who plays Lady Sybil’s widower, Tom Branson, told Radio Times this week: “The scripts are brilliant this year – absolutely great and there are going to be more shocks. It’s Julian Fellowes’ writing – there’s going to be a lot more drama. I think they’re going to blow everyone away.”

He added: “It’s very exciting to have new people in and those storylines are very exciting as well.”

ITV announced today that Death in Paradise actor Gary Carr has joined Series 4’s cast as a “charming and charismatic” jazz singer.

The fourth series is currently filming and will air on ITV later this year.
