BBC Worldwide has revealed that a French version of Last Tango In Halifax is being developed.
French independent production company NEWEN and BBC Worldwide will co-produce a new six-part version of BBC One’s romantic comedy drama.
Jean-Louis Blot, Director BBC Worldwide France, commented: “We are excited to work with Newen teams to develop and co-produce Last Tango In Halifax. This is the beginning of a collaboration we hope long and successful.”
Fabrice Larue, President of Newen added: “This agreement confirms our ambition to develop the best partnerships with major international actors and our strategy of international expansion.”
Starring Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid as love struck septuagenarians Alan and Celia, Series 2 of the British show concluded last December and a third series will air on BBC One later this year.
