“We must fight together now, or die” says Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion Lannister, in a standout moment from the footage. We also hear familiar dialogue from Kit Harington’s Jon Snow, who is banging on about how the White Walkers don’t tire.
We see ships sailing with soldiers, dragons swooping over Winterfell, and a lovely plait demanding attention on the back of Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen’s head. We see Leaney Heady’s Cersei and Rory McCann’s Sandor Clegane, very briefly, both looking very serious.
These tantalising glimpses are enough to increase our hype levels significantly, and there isn’t long to wait now: Game Of Thrones season 8 will premiere on HBO on April 14th.
