HBO has released the first proper trailer for Game Of Thrones season 8, which confirms that show’s final season will begin its televised run in April 2019. You can clap eyes on the teasing video right here, and get all the info that you need.
This trailer takes Jon Snow, Arya Stark and Sansa Stark down into the crypts of Winterfell, and why are you reading this when you could be watching it? Here’s the trailer…
The clip sees Kit Harington’s Jon, Sophie Turner’s Sansa and Maisie Williams’ Arya wandering through the crypts and remembering iconic lines of dialogue from the dead characters depicted as statues: Neddard Stark, Catelyn Stark and Lyanna Stark are all present in stone form.
And, curiously, there are also tomb-like statues for Jon, Sansa and Arya. The siblings realise that this is a very bad omen, just as a fan favourite feather ices up, and they decide to draw their weapons.
Who exactly has lured them here and made the statues remains to be seen. And, of course, there’s a chance that this scene was merely intended as a cool teaser or a dream sequence – perhaps it doesn’t factor into the actual plot at all.
There’s one thing we know for sure, though: as trailer confirms, April 14th is the Game Of Thrones season 8 premiere date. We’ll be sure to bring you all the latest updates as that date draws nearer.
