Season 9 Episode 1 airs at 10pm on Wednesday 7th November on Sky Living.

The official synopsis reads: “With Lexie,  tragically succumbing to her injuries, fans of the show don’t have to wait long to find out the fate of her colleagues as theseason nine premiere jumps ahead in time, before flashing back to the scene of the crash to chart their rescue. As the true impact and aftermath of the crash are revealed, we see how the survivors cope with their losses and learn to move forward with their relationships and careers.

“There are also a new batch of interns gracing the halls of Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital, including; Jo, Heather and Shane. As these new residents settle in, it soon becomes clear that they are petrified of Meredith, who is now attending general surgeon. Nicknamed ‘Medusa’ by her interns, Meredith has to choose the most promising student to undertake their first surgery with her. She decides on Jo but it doesn’t go quite as well as they had planned.

“In other news, heartthrob Alex appears to be getting on particularly well with this seasons new interns but with his place at the John Hopkins Hospital waiting for him, will he finally be able to say goodbye to Seattle Grace?”
