Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood takes control of the Oval Office in the new, official trailer for House Of Cards season 6. Taking the reins from Kevin Spacey’s Frank, Claire will lead the show and the United States in this final season of political drama.

The trailer opens after Frank’s death, with a hefty amount of doubt and vitriol flying in Claire’s direction as she assumes control of the nation: she’s accused on TV of being the “the worst thing that has ever happened to this country”, and told in private that her plans will “set us back a generation.”
But Claire, of course, will take absolutely none of this. Seconds later, she’s publicly baiting the “American oligarchs” that don’t want her at the helm. This set-up has piles of potential for thrilling drama, and we look forward to seeing how it all stacks up.
House Of Cards season 6 will arrive on Netflix on November 2nd 2018, with all eight episodes dropping at once. This is a truncated run, then, given that the show’s previous seasons all consisted of 13 instalments.
