Paterson Joseph (Peep Show) and Sheila Hancock (Sister Act: The Musical) will also guest star in Series 8, alongside returning regular cast members Adrian Lester, Robert Vaughn, Robert Glenister, Kelly Adams and Matt Di Angelo.

Shot in Birmingham and London this summer, the six new episodes will see the gang embark on cons ranging from “a complex gold heist” to “the lucrative world of slimming pills”, as well as facing “their biggest challenge yet in an attempt to pull off the ultimate con”.

Adrian Lester, who plays Mickey Bricks in the show, will also direct Episode 2.

The Survivors star commented: “Hustle has been a big part of my life for the last 8 years. The time is right for me to move on. I’m looking forward to seeing what tricks the gang get up to in this last series and I’m very pleased to be given the opportunity to direct one of the episodes.”

Series 8 will air in 2012.
