Director Patty Jenkins and actor Chris Pine must’ve enjoyed working together on Wonder Woman, because here we are watching the trailer for their next collaboration: Pine stars in a Jenkins-directed TV miniseries by the name of I Am The Night, and the first trailer just dropped online.
As well as acting and directing, respectively, Pine and Jenkins both serve as executive producers on the project. The six-episode limited series was written by Sam Sheridan (who previously worked on SEAL Team) and Monica Beletsky (The Leftovers, Friday Night Lights).
As well as Pine, the cast includes India Eisley, Jefferson Mays, Leland Orser, Yul Vazquez, Dylan Smith, Golden Brooks, Justin Cornwell, Jay Paulson and Connie Nielsen, the last of whom was also in Wonder Woman.
Without further ado, here’s the trailer…
And here’s the official synopsis…
“I Am the Night tells the incredible story of Fauna Hodel (Eisley) who was given away at birth. As Fauna begins to investigate the secrets to her past, she follows a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynaecologist, Dr. George Hodel (Mays), a man involved in the darkest Hollywood debauchery. Pine plays Jay Singletary, a former Marine-turned-hack-reporter/paparazzo.”
I Am The Night will debut on the TNT network, over in the USA, in January 2019. As far as we can tell, the show doesn’t yet have a UK broadcaster attached.
We’ll bring you more news as we hear it.
