It’s a bumper day for Iron Fist news, as we learn that the show’s second season will be shorter (with ten episodes, which now have titles) and utterly devoid of Luke Cage action.
Finn Jones’ Danny Rand popped up in Luke Cage‘s second season, but Mike Colter’s bulletproof Hero Of Harlem will not be returning the favour in Iron Fist‘s sophomore run.
“Mike isn’t in Season Two, unfortunately,” Jones said revealed to Latino Review. “I wish he was, I love working with Mike. I hope to see more Heroes for Hire in the future. I think it’s a great pairing, I think Heroes For Hire [the pairing of Luke and Danny] and Daughters of the Dragon [the pairing of Colleen Wing and Misty Knight] is just gold! So hopefully that will happen later on down the line, but right now we’re just focusing on a true Iron Fist story.”
Over on the show’s Instagram account, a series of images have been posted in gallery format, unveiling the episode titles for Iron Fist season 2. Those titles are…
“The Fury of the Iron Fist”
“The City’s Not for Burning”
“This Deadly Secret “
“Target: Iron Fist”
“Heart of the Dragon”
“The Dragon Dies at Dawn”
“Morning of the Mindstorm”
“Citadel on the Edge of Vengeance”
“War Without End”
“A Duel of Iron”
When one fan pointed out that this list only contains ten episodes, the official Iron Fist account responded with a snarky comment that Danny would be proud of: “We got a smart one here.”
This seems to confirm that we’ll be getting a shorter season this time around. The fact that Iron Fist season 2 is going to have 10 episodes, compared to the previous run’s 13 instalments, has us hoping for less filler and more thriller.
Iron Fist season 2 will drop on Netflix on September 7th. We’ll bring you more news as we hear it.
