The CW has renewed iZombie for its fifth season, causing fans of the undead comedy crime show to rejoice. Alongside Supernatural and the network’s ever-growing slate of DC Comics series, iZombie is becoming something of a mainstay in the schedule.
The show was developed by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright, and it stars Rose McIver, David Anders, Robert Buckley, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli and Aly Michalka. It launched in 2015, and so far shows no signs of stopping. Here in the UK, iZombie is shown on Netflix.
McIver sent this Tweet to thank the fans for their continued support:
Thank you all SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!! Best fans ever! Look what you did!!! We love you guys and I promise this is worth the effort. And @RahulKohli13 and @malcolmjgoodwin are finally getting their #iZombie tattoos 💯 pic.twitter.com/k4JkrY7kCf

And the iZombie writers room shared this message:

As well as iZombie, Supernatural and all the DC shows, The CW has also renewed Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Dynasty, Riverdale, The 100 and Jane The Virgin for new seasons.
On the other hand, the CW recently proved that it is still capable of cancelling a show: Life Sentence was dropped by the network after one season, and Wayward Sisters (a spinoff from Supernatural) was ditched after an unsuccessful pilot episode.
More news as we hear it.
