Jack Whitehall will step in to host The Graham Norton Show, on the night that Norton is busy hosting the Eurovision Song Contest. Here’s what they’ve both said about the decision…
On Saturday 18th May, while Graham Norton is in Tel Aviv for Eurovision, Jack Whitehall will host The Graham Norton Show in his stead. It will be the first time in 20 years that Norton has missed an episode of his talk show.
“I’m thrilled to know that I am leaving the show in Jack’s capable hands,” Norton said in a statement that British Comedy Guide has shared. “He is bound to do an amazing job. I should warn him not to get too comfortable in my chair though, because like a slightly fey terminator, I’ll be back!!”
Whitehall himself, who is always a quality guest when he appears on the show, said this about taking the helm: “I was so honoured Graham asked me to do this for him. The thought of stepping into his huge showbiz boots fills me in equal measure with fear and excitement. Worst case, I will make everyone appreciate just how lucky we are to have him.”
Luke Evans, Paloma Faith and Gwendoline Christie are scheduled to be the guests on Whitehall’s episode. Best of luck to him.
