Written by the show’s creator David Renwick, a new 90-minute episode is due to air at Easter on BBC One.
Speaking to Radio Times at the National Television Awards on Thursday, Davies teased: “This one’s a really good one – it’s a really good mystery, it’s impossible to fathom. You don’t quite know what’s going on and who you can trust.”
The QI star added: “I don’t know about more episodes of Jonathan Creek – there may be. David Renwick’s got a bit of a twinkle in his eye and I think he’s enjoyed getting back to it and while BBC1 are keen on it, maybe we will do more…”
Guest starring Rik Mayall (Bottom), Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous), Sarah Alexander (Green Wing), Nigel Planer (The Young Ones) and Hasina Haque (Casualty), ‘The Clue of the Savant’s Thumb’ will see Creek and fellow investigator Joey Ross (Sheridan Smith) drawn into a complex case involving a secret society, seemingly supernatural events at a girls’ boarding school, and the miraculous disappearance of a body in front of three witnesses.
