The crime drama will return at 8.30pm on Monday 1 April on BBC One with ‘The Clue of the Savant’s Thumb’, a new 90-minute episode guest starring Rik Mayall (Bottom), Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous), Sarah Alexander (Green Wing) and Nigel Planer (The Young Ones).

“When a dead body impossibly vanishes from a locked study it is only the first in a chain of dark mysteries confronting Jonathan Creek and self-styled paranormal investigator Joey Ross.

The BBC announced earlier this month that a brand new three-part mini-series of Jonathan Creek has been commissioned and will begin filming this autumn.
