The Ashes to Ashes actress played Zoe Reynolds in BBC One’s spy drama between 2002 and 2004.

Last month actor Peter Firth, who played MI5 chief Harry Pearce througout the show’s ten-year run, revealed: “There is a [movie] script kind of in the machine. They should make it. It’s not like it’s a gamble with this one.”

Hawes told Digital Spy today: “There may be [a movie] in development! There may be [a role for Zoe]!”

She added: “Nostalgically it would be very nice, but they better do it soon or there’ll be a lot of old spooks running around!”

Spooks concluded in 2011 with Series 10.
