Former Family Fortunes presenter and Coronation Street alum Les Dennis will take on the role of a washed-up psychic in a new dark comedy movie, which is going by the title Sideshow. We’ve got all the info on this barmy-sounding project right here.
Screen Daily broke the news, reporting that filming began on Sideshow on January 14th 2019. It’ll be a while before the flick makes it to screens, then, but it’s nice to know that Les Dennis is out there – possibly at this very second – dressed as a psychic.
Anthony Head (Buffy), April Pearson (Skins) and Nathan Clarke (Plebs) are also in the cast, with Adam Oldroyd writing and directing behind-the-scenes. This is his feature directing debut, but he has previously shot episodes of the TV shows Andy’s Prehistoric Adventure, Wild & Weird and Naomi’s Nightmares Of Nature.
As for the story, Screen Daily notes that the film “follows two criminals who, after breaking into the home of a washed-up psychic, get more than they bargained for.” Here’s hoping that Dennis’ character turns out to have some real powers.
Filming is taking place in South West of England and South Glamorganshire, Wales. And we’ll be sure to bring you more news as we hear it.
