Luke Perry, who was a mainstay on our screens over the years, has died at the age of 52. The actor suffered a stroke on February 27th, and sadly wasn’t able to return to health.
TMZ was the first outlet to report Perry’s passing, stating that “Luke passed away Monday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank.”
A representative for the actor said this to TMZ: “He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.”
This statement was later added by the actor’s representative, Arnold Robinson, according to a report from Collider: “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”
Perry leaves behind an impressive legacy of excellent work: he’ll be fondly remembered for this turns in Beverly Hills 90210, The Fifth Element, the Buffy The Vampire Slayer film and Riverdale. He also has a role in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming feature, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
