If you’ve been meaning to watch or rewatch Luther before its fifth series arrives, now’s your chance. The BBC has plonked all four previous series onto iPlayer, giving you a perfect opportunity to catch up.
Since Luther debuted on our tellies in 2010, Idris Elba has starred in sixteen episodes – across four series – as the iconic detective. Elba will don his lovely brown coat once again for series 5, which is “coming soon” to the Beeb.
The BBC’s official statement on the matter reads thusly…
“Every series of multi-award-winning BBC crime drama Luther returns to BBC iPlayer today as a box set for viewers to binge ahead of series 5, which is coming soon to BBC One.
“Written and created by Emmy-nominated Neil Cross and starring Idris Elba in his iconic role as DCI John Luther, for which he has received a Golden Globe and SAG Award, the series follows Luther as he’s drawn into terrifyingly complex cases in a dark and dangerous London.
“Fans can revisit Luther’s most shocking cases, while curious new viewers can discover this suspenseful and gritty detective series for themselves.”
We don’t yet know the exact date that series 5 will debut on the BBC, but we’ll be sure to let you know when it gets announced.
