A Canadian drama entitled Mary Kills People is all set to broadcast on More4 in the UK, as Channel 4 nabs the rights to show the series on this side of the pond. Here’s everything you need to know…
Mary Kills People was created by Tara Armstrong, with Caroline Dhavernas starring as the eponymous Dr Mary Harris. Two series of six episodes each have aired in Canada thus far, with a third batch of episodes on the way later this year.
The plot of the show has been summed up thusly: “Single mother Mary Harris is an ER doctor by day, but by night she and her partner, a former plastic surgeon, moonlight as underground angels of death who help terminally ill patients slip away on their own terms.”
Channel 4 has bought the ‘life of series’ rights from Entertainment One, with a view to broadcasting every episode of the show on More4.
eOne’s Dan Gopal said this about the deal: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Channel 4 on bringing this ground-breaking series to the UK. Mary Kills People is truly an original and captivating drama with thought-provoking content that has been engaging viewers all over the world. We can’t wait for UK audiences to enjoy the show.”
