Speaking to SciFiNow, co-creator Julian Murphy explained: “We’re very interested in Merlin’s development and Arthur as the king of the Round Table and that legend. The fully fledged Camelot is something we’re getting towards, and that opens up a whole raft of legends and possibilities.”

Murphy also teased that the older Mordred joining Morgana in Series 5, now played by actor Alexander Vlahos, “has a job to do at the end of the story”.

Co-creator Johnny Capps has also revealed that Series 5 will begin after a time jump and that “I think everone will be surprised where all the characters are”.
