George will play Sam, a “highly skilled operative for an elite private intelligence firm”, in the eight-part series, alongside Adam Rayner (Mistresses) as her colleague and love interest.

The Australian actress tweeted: “Just saw rough cut of my new @HBO @bbc1 drama. NOW I am pumped! Ohyeahohyeahohyeah! Morocco, london, Scotland…dynamic, tough, sexy.FAST.” (sic)

She added that the series will air “mid to end of [the] year”.

Written by Frank Spotnitz, best known for writing nearly 50 episodes of The X Files, Nemsis began filming last November and is produced by the makers of Spooks.
