A new trailer for Riverdale’s eagerly-anticipated second season has arrived, and things are looking good for Archie’s dad following the first season finale’s shock shooting.

According to executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who spoke to fans at San Diego Comic-Con, viewers won’t be left wondering for too long: “The first episode is Archie, the gang, all of the town, waiting to find out what’s going to happen with Fred,” he said.

Meanwhile, the other big cliffhanger involved the moral dichotomy of Jughead. Will he join the Southside Serpents?

“[Jughead] is placed in the middle of two worlds that are starting to collide and erupt,” said Cole Sprouse. “It’s going to start forcing him to pick a side, which is a dangerous place for him to be in because he’s a very morally grey character.

“I don’t think it’s going to be as easy as he assumes. I think he has an idea of fitting in, and he thinks he’s quite a special snowflake and he’ll stand out.”
