If you haven’t already tuned in, The Shark Cage is an intense poker show that features celebrities such as Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Jennifer Tilly and Shannon Elizabeth (check-out Season 1 here).
Now that they have just finished their second round of applications, the participants are getting their chance to play poker with the celebs. These same contestants will also have the opportunity to win the million-dollar prize.
The show follows a chain of televised poker tournaments. The PokerStars Big Game (dubbed the Big Game) originally aired for two consecutive seasons on Fox Network, from June 14, 2010 through July 22, 2011. Televised poker dates back to the World Series of Poker (held each year in Las Vegas), which began at the Horseshoe Casino in 1970 and was first filmed for TV in 1973.
The Shark Cage follows an impressive list of televised poker series. The first exciting heats of Season 2 are due to take place during the highly publicized 2015 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). The exciting news for poker fans is that there is room for at least two additional online qualifiers, who will each receive a seat in the heats as well as a trip to The Bahamas!
Audiences around the globe are tuning in to watch this new series, where contestants are pitted against top pros in ‘winner-take-all’ competitions, with a first place prize of a million bucks. Players stand to win a place in the heats, which will be televised across the continents.
The first is scheduled during the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, staged for this coming January in The Bahamas. Here is a sneak peek of the competition that will then move to the European Poker Tour (EPT) Monaco and EPT Barcelona, which follow. The winner stands to go home with a million dollars, in addition to experiencing some of the top gambling casinos in the world.
Contestants will compete with the pros while taking in the azure waters of the Caribbean and sitting poolside near the Mediterranean. The Shark Cage is “the hottest new concept in poker” as well as a competition that is gaining the attention of millions of viewers.
Online satellites are available now, and as we mentioned, the winners will receive tickets for their flights, double rooms for two, and credits of $800 that will help cover expenses in The Bahamas. The opportunity to see what’s next in an impressive line of televised poker competition promises some of the most exciting interactive poker to hit the tables in years.
The Shark Cage offers viewers the thrill of the game combined with a million dollar chance to win!
