A follow-up series to Sky Atlantic’s bilingual crime drama The Tunnel is being developed.

Based on the Danish/Swedish crime series The Bridge, The Tunnel launched last October and starred Game of Thrones actor Stephen Dillane as British detective Karl Roebuck.

The new series will be an entirely new story, rather than an adaptation of The Bridge’s second season, The Guardian reports.

A Sky spokeswoman commented: “We are in discussion with Kudos and Canal+ about The Tunnel returning for a second series, but have no confirmed plans as yet.”
