Disney’s Star Wars: Resistance, the latest animated series from that galaxy far, far away, has officially been renewed for its second season. Created by Star Wars regular Dave Filoni, the series is rendered in an anime-like style and follows a group of pilots between the events of Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens.
The official StarWars.com website broke the news, with this statement…
“Disney Channel has ordered a second season of the animated series Star Wars Resistance for a fall 2019 premiere, Lucasfilm announced today. Set prior to the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars Resistance follows Kazuda Xiono (“Kaz”), a young pilot recruited by the Resistance for a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order. Fast and fun, the series features a colorful and vibrant anime-inspired look, and has introduced many new heroes and villains to the saga.”
Since season 1 is still broadcasting, Lucasfilm hasn’t given us any clues as to what season 2 will entail in terms of story details. As we hear more, though, we’ll be sure to keep you furnished with all the latest updates.
In the meantime, here’s the official trailer for season 1’s midseason finale…
Star Wars: Resistance season 2 will debut in the autumn, and you can watch season 1 on Disney XD in the UK.
