The very first teaser trailer for Stranger Things season 3 has arrived on the web, giving fans a glimpse at a new location and a new character from the supernatural Netflix series.
The teaser focuses on the Starcourt Mall, a new retail destination that will open in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana next summer. The fact that the teaser trailer specifies this time frame makes us think that Stranger Things season 3 will arrive on the streaming service next summer.

Another perk of this trailer is that, as well as hinting at the season’s release date and showing off this new location, it gives us our first look at a brand new character: Maya Hawke, who you might recognise from BBC One’s recent Little Women TV series, debuts briefly in her role as Robin, working in the Scoops Ahoy ice cream parlour alongside Joe Keery’s fan favourite character Steve Harrington.
It remains to be seen how pivotal a role the Starcourt mall will play in Stranger Things season 3, but you’d assume it’s an important place since they’ve gone to the trouble of making a whole trailer about it. One thing’s for sure: the Starcourt mall would be a creepy place to explore in The Upside-Down.
We’ll bring you more Stranger Things season 3 news as we hear it.
