Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) return with a double-bill at 10pm on Wednesday 3 July on Sky Living.

The official synopsis reads: “Demon hunting is the family business, but, following last season’s epic showdown with the Leviathans, we rejoin the boys during a big change. In the opener – directed by Ackles – Dean escapes Purgatory to find Sam living a normal, humdrum existence, complete with a girlfriend and dog. Old habits die hard, though, when a tablet holding the key to the gates of hell falls into the wrong hands. Momentum builds in episode two as the pair capture Kevin Tran (Osric Chau), the only person capable of reading the tablet. They agree to protect his mother to get him on side, however a risky attempt to recover the relic turns their would-be allies into foes.”

Season 8 will also feature Bobby (Jim Beaver), Castiel (Misha Collins) and Garth (DJ Qualls), as well as special appearances from Amanda Tapping (Stargate SG-1) and Alaina Huffman (SGU Stargate Universe).
