Originally due for release this week, having previously been postponed from last December due to pitch level problems with the Series 5 discs, the 39-disc set will now be released on Monday 9th May.
Starring Patrick Macnee as John Steed, The Avengers ran from 1961 to 1969 on ITV and launched the careers of Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg, who went on to appear as Bond girls in Goldfinger and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service respectively.
The new set features 139 digitally restored episodes and comes with 30 hours of extra features.
