Karl Urban is back in the comic book business! And although this isn’t the return to the Dredd franchise that his fans have been holding out for, this new project is still an exciting proposition. Check out the first teaser for Amazon’s Urban-starring series The Boys, which has Seth Rogen involved behind the scenes.
Rogen, who has done a roaring trade in TV shows in recent years with Black Monday, Future Man and Preacher, served as an executive producer on The Boys. And now, he’s taken to Twitter to share the first teaser trailer, which you can watch right here…
Based on one of my favorite comics of all time, I’m proud to have helped bring #TheBoys to life. Here’s a taste of our new show, coming to Amazon this year: pic.twitter.com/oACd1KL2pu

The Boys is based on a Wildstorm/Dynamite Entertainment comic series that was created by writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson back in 2006. 72 issues were released, focusing on a CIA squad that is tasked with handling an increasingly unruly superhero community. The book has swagger, tonnes of admirers, and something interesting to say about superheroes and stardom.
Rogen admitted in his Tweet that The Boys is one of his favourite comics, and we’re certainly intrigued to see how the series turns out on screen.
Featuring Karl Urban, Jennifer Esposito, Erin Moriarty, Jack Quaid, Simon Pegg and Elisabeth Shue, the series will debut on Amazon Prime Video in summer 2019.
We’ll bring you more as we hear it.
