Amazon’s TV adaptation of The Boys, based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic book of the same name, has a new trailer packed with barmy ideas. You can watch it right here…
The Boys comic book ran for 72 issues between October 2006 and November 2012, split between the publishers Wildstorm and Dynamite Entertainment. It has long been touted for a live-action adaptation, and Amazon is finally making that happen.
Preacher TV show producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are leading the charge again on this series, with help from Eric Kripke and Dan Trachtenberg. An impressive cast has assembled, too, including Karl Urban, Karen Fukuhara, Laz Alonso, Tomer Kapon, Anthony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jesse T. Usher, Chance Crawford, Simon Pegg and Jack Quaid.
Anyway, here’s the new trailer, which features such barmy ideas as a baby with laser eyes…
And here’s the one that came before it…
Also, here’s a short synopsis…
“THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.”
The Boys will premiere on July 26th 2019 on Amazon Prime Video.
