To me, to you, and right back onto your telly: the Chuckle Brothers are planning a big TV comeback, thirty years after ChuckleVision debuted on BBC. But rather than returning to the Beeb, nine years since ChuckleVision ended in 2009, Barry and Paul Chuckle have found a new home on Channel 5.
The new series fronted by the Chuckle Brothers is entitled Chuckle Time, and it will feature a host of funny internet clips alongside classic sketches performed by Barry and Paul.
If you’re wondering if the Chuckle Brothers are still funny, look no further than this comedy music video they appeared in back in 2014:
“The Chuckle Brothers have spent their lives falling over and making us laugh, and now they are watching us makes fools of ourselves as the public and audience upload fails, flops and funnies onto the internet,” a Channel 5 spokesperson said in a statement.
We don’t have a start date yet for Chuckle Time, but we know that the show’s first series will consist of twelve hour-long episodes. Here’s hoping that this new series retains the warmness and charm that defined ChuckleVision, despite its rather modern internet-themed central conceit.
We’ll bring you more news on Chuckle Time as and when we hear it.
