The follow-up to the UK’s most successful comedy film of all time will be directed by and written by the creators of the TV show, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley.

The writers commented: “We can’t say too much as we don’t want to spoil the jokes for you, but what we can exclusively reveal is there will be kangaroos. And Australians. And possibly koalas. Oh and obviously Jay, Will, Neil and Simon providing they’re let into the country.”

They added: “Thanks so much for all your support, we’re hoping to deliver a film that you’ll enjoy even more than the last one.”

Following filming in Australia, the film’s shoot will move to the UK in January.

The Inbetweeners Movie 2 will be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland in August 2014.
