The Mandalorian trailer: first footage from the Star Wars TV series

Disney has unleashed the first footage from The Mandalorian, the Star Wars TV series that will debut on the Disney+ streaming service later this year. You can watch the footage right here…

It was a big weekend for Star Wars news, with Star Wars: Episode IX receiving an official title – The Rise Of Skywalker – and its first trailer. The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game also received its first trailer, and earmarked a release date in November.

But if it’s small screen live-action thrills that you’re after, The Mandalorian is what you want to be looking at. With Game Of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal in the lead role, and Iron Man director Jon Favreau serving as showrunner, this is a series to get properly excited about.

The Star Wars Celebration event, which took place over the weekend, saw Favreau unveiling the first footage for this gritty and realistic series. And although Disney hasn’t put that footage online, fans from the audience have taken that task upon themselves.

This isn’t a particularly HD rendering of the footage, then, but it should be enough to give you a flavour of what The Mandalorian will be like…

You can watch the entire panel discussion, from Celebration, here…

The Disney+ streaming service will launch in America on 12th November, with The Mandalorian arriving on the same day. It’s unclear when the service will come to the UK, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
