Disney+ will launch next week with just two episodes of The Mandalorian…
The Disney+ streaming service will launch in the UK on 24th March and if it’s small screen thrills you’re after, you’d be hard-pressed to find a show that has been more highly anticipated or had more cultural impact – at least on the kids toy aisle – than The Mandalorian, the incredibly pricey Star Wars streaming series from Disney and Lucasfilm.
It’s been unclear how many episodes of The Mandalorian the UK would find on the platform at launch. The entire series wrapped up in the US some time ago, but Disney+ UK is still planning to roll it out piecemeal. It’s been confirmed today that only the first two episodes of the show will be available at launch, with a third streaming on March 27. Seemingly, they will then pop up weekly until the series’ conclusion.
With Game Of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal in the lead role, and Iron Man director Jon Favreau serving as showrunner, The Mandalorian is still a series for UK subscribers to get properly excited about.
Here’s a trailer, which is heavy with the gloom of a wonderful Werner Herzog voice-over…
Joining Pascal in The Mandalorian cast are Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, Taika Waititi, Ming-Na Wen and more.
