The spinoff show is part of the Walking Dead universe, and focuses on kids that escape a safe space to see what’s going on in the world…
Amazon Prime Video UK has confirmed that Walking Dead spinoff series, World Beyond, will be streaming from Monday October 5th. Starring Julia Ormond, the project is a limited series, consisting of two seasons.
World Beyond mainly centres on the first generation of people raised in the zombie apocalypse. “Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.”

The cast for the show also features Alexa Mansour (as a character called Hope), Aliyah Royale (as Iris), Nicolas Cantu (as Elton), Hal Cumpston (as Silas) and Annet Mahendru (as Huck). The director of Kong: Skull Island, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, shot the show’s first episode.
This isn’t the first spinoff in the world of The Walking Dead. We’ve already seen Fear The Walking Dead find its footing. There are also plans for a trilogy of Rick Grimes movies starring Andrew Lincoln, and a spinoff for Negan has also been discussed.
This young adult series feels like an interesting idea, and it’s maybe a good thing that it has an end point already in mind.
