Channel 4 has commissioned a third season of Toast of London.
Nominated for six awards in this year’s British Comedy Awards, the show was originally broadcast as a one-off for Channel 4’s Funny Fortnight season of comedies in August 2012 marking the channel’s 30th birthday.
Toast of London stars Matt Berry as eccentric actor Steven Toast, alongside Doon Mackichan, Robert Bathurst, Tracy-Ann Oberman and Harry Peacock.
Six new episodes will begin filming next June and will air on Channel 4 later in 2015.
Channel 4’s Head of Comedy, Phil Clarke, commented: “Channel 4 has always backed original comedy, the type of shows you wouldn’t find anywhere else, and Toast of London represents a significant new chapter in that story, and in our comedy heritage. We are so proud to have the show, with its amazing cast and hilarious scripts. Matt Berry and Arthur Mathews have forged a dynamic new writing team, and I eagerly look forward to their next series.”
Executive producer Andrew Newman added: “Toast has been great fun to make and hilarious to watch, so we’re very excited that Channel 4 have commissioned another series.”
