The BBC has confirmed the commission of a fourth season of Poldark, before the third season has even aired.
Star Aidan Turner, who plays Captain Ross Poldark in the hit period drama, announced the news at the BFI & Radio Times Television Festival’s Poldark panel earlier this month.
The new episodes will begin filming this September and will air on BBC One in 2018.
Poldark is based on the novel series by Winston Graham, which includes a total of 12 books. The third season is believed to cover the fifth and sixth books in the series.
The award-winning Cornish saga launched in March 2015 and returned to BBC One for a second season in September 2016.
