The fantasy drama returned to CBBC for Series 2 this week and follows the lives of two seemingly ordinary teenagers who are secretly part of a mysterious race who have lived among us for centuries, disguising their abilities and blending in.

Discussing how Maddy has changed since the start of the first series, Kelly commented: “The situations she’s been put in have made her grow up. She has matured a lot in this series.”

On working with Bobby Lockwood, who plays Rhydian, the actress revealed: “We’re best friends. He always says he was hired to keep me in line!”

She also promises “lots of new storylines and new, exciting characters” in Series 2 and teased: “I think the main thing is that Maddy and Rydian have a lot of obstacles to face… a LOT!”
